Emergency Preparedness and Response

The events of September 11 prompted the recognition that trauma in people's lives must be taken seriously and that we must take steps to understand what we can do to protect and respond to the demands and stresses of this new world. Emergency situations have a profound affect on all aspects of life, including the workplace.

The summary is the result of a national conference convened by the Center for the Study of Traumatic Stress in June of 2006. The conference brought together employers from both the public and private sectors to address the psychological and behavioral implications of workplace planning and response to disaster and terrorism.
