WORKPLACE MENTAL HEALTH NEWS

  • National Business Group on Health: An Employer's Guide to Behavioral Health Services. The National Business Group on Health has published a roadmap with recommendations for evaluating, designing and implementing behavioral health services. The report serves as a blueprint of actionable strategies and recommendations that will allow employers to create and implement a system of affordable, effective, and high-quality behavioral health services. • Diabetes and Depression. According to a study published in the February 6th issue of Diabetes Care, patients with diabetes and depression showed better outcomes (depression and function) when they received depression care. Even better, there was no net cost increase relative to usual care. In fact, the findings demonstrated some cost savings/avoidance. For the full text of the study, see attached PDF.
