The Partnership for Workplace Mental Health joins the nation in voicing its support for the thousands of people affected by Hurricane Katrina. The partnership has published a brochure on responding to disasters that is available for download and in print. Up to fifty copies can be requested free of charge. There's an Alcohol Cost Calculator out there for companies to use in calculating the losses that result directly from alcoholism among their employees. The calculator is Web-based and easy to use and was developed last year by Ensuring Solutions to Alcohol Problems, which is based at The George Washington University Medical Center in Washington, D.C. HealthyMinds.org,
a new consumer-oriented Web site that seeks to inform and educate the public about mental health treatment and resources.
The core of the Web site is information on many common mental health concerns, including warning signs of mental disorders,
treatment options, and prevention measures.
- Let's Talk Facts Series available online. As part of the HealthyMinds campaign, the APA is
releasing the latest edition of Let's Talk Facts brochures. The series is designed to improve mental health by promoting
informed factual discussion of psychiatric disorders and their treatments. Visit
